A Fun Day

Just barely hours ago had I completed my first day of work, I’m indulged with the movie-packed party. The 4 hours spent watching not one but TWO movies at a go and of course a lunch buffet was given to all who joined in the party plus a couple goodies. I finally had a chanced to experience the continuous sitting still in-front of a large flat screen watching Tenacious D In: The Pick of Destiny & Step Up.

Tenacious D;

Humorous = Yes

Storyline = Good

Guitar Skill + Singing = Good

However the language used was extremely vulgar with a particular _ _ _ _ been used. Sigh…

Step Up;

Storyline = Good

Dance Moves = Wicked Cool

A couple nice video I like to share:

Two versions of Step Up:

Final Dance:

Material Girls

Material Girls

Went to the movie theatre to watch Material Girls with my mother after winning a pair of ticket. This is my review:

A movie with main leading actress of real-life sisters Hillary and Haylie Duff plays Tanzy and Ava Marchetta, whose late father founded a successful cosmetics company.But when a scandal involving one of their products emerged, the girls are left penniless, homeless, and seemingly helpless. With the resolve to save the company, the girls are determined to find the main cause. It is a nice understandable to watch movie with some well written humor. Such as a part when Hillary landed in jail with three aggressive looking female prisoners envying her baby-face, and she ended giving talks on cheap methods on looking after the skin.  And when both sisters are doing their facial treatment when an accident small fire which they failed to extinguished and resulted to an unstoppable fire. Their facial masked followed them throughout their journey to a hotel and lastly to their ex-maid house. Another part which I felt humorous was the girls reaction when they realised their cars got stolen when there was never a bellboy to park their cars at their maid house and their company.

Overall the movie I would give 3/5 stars for its effort.

Mask

Mask

Mask

He slouched against the table, peering out of the classroom window. In his heart, he knew he had never been part of the class. The face his friends and teachers saw was only a facade, a mask. Underneath that smiling face was an unfeeling mind and no one would know his true emotion behind his smile. Xavier’s model looks and well-mannered behaviour made him popular with mainly female students.

Xavier came from a broken home. His father with a high position job was given custody of him. His mother went hysterical when the divorce took place. The visits to the mental hospital had been a painful journey. The sight of his mother tormented, he could not hold back his tears.

“Xavier, would you do the class a flavour by reading the next paragraph,” the teacher requested. His voice was gentle and compelling, even the sleepy students awoke and listened with great concentration.

As soon as the school bell rang, students trooped out of the classrooms. While Xavier was packing his bag, he overheard a conversation between his classmates. “Samantha, do you have an extra bed in your house? Could you please allow me to stay at your house until my grandfather’s house has been fully renovated?,” pleaded Apple. Tears flowed down her cheeks. She was devastated when her friends told her they had no spare bed for her. Her helpless look unconsciously attracted Xavier.

“Let me help you,” Xavier held out his hand and Apple accepted with an “Are you sure?” look. As they walked together on the pavements, Xavier attempts to break the silence. “Apple, don’t you think today’s sunset is unbelievable beautiful,” Xavier pointing towards the sky. Apple made a slight nod, and they started having small talks on the way to Xavier’s home.

“Here will be your room,” Xavier said with a gentle smile. Apple’s mouth gaped in disbelief and gradually, a smile began to form on her lips. Apple jumped ecstatically and hugged Xavier. “Thank you so much,” said a grateful Apple.

Xavier was shocked that he was being hugged. A hug that he longed for ages since he was separated from his mother. He cried, unable to control his tears that had been kept frozen in time. Apple was astounded that Xavier had opened up his feelings to her. She was about to release her hands when Xavier hugged her. “Please for a while longer,” Xavier said in his cracking voice.

They stood in the darkness holding each other’s hand. While outside the window birds were chirping on the rain tree. A genuine warm smile formed on his face. For the first time, the mask on Xavier’s face had been removed.

Death Note {the Movie}

After watching the movie, I felt it was a well spent movie.

I fame Raito of able to write a person death while eating Consumed Flavour potato chips.

I fame Raito of able to kill Shiori while just saying killed by an Accidental Gunshot.

I fame Raito of able to top in national exam.

I defame L for being so childish, always eating sweets and stacking ice cubes.

I defame L for using a lollipop as a stirrer for his coffee.

I defame L for trying to drink the last drop of his drink.

 Hai… this are my three praises/defame of the characters. Sry but I biased towards Raito. ^_^

Choice

Sullen clouds gathered across the skies as the night began to fall. Old fashioned streetlamps threw feeble light on the streets, and the wind rattled the shutters of the shops. Thick and misty fog crept in the night, as a ringing silence lies on the street. Beads of sweat dotted my forehead, I could hear my heart pounding in the darkness as I quickened my steps trying to reach my home to celebrate Christmas.

My heartbeat raced as a silhouette shadow flickered past the open space street. Rhythmic sounds of footsteps grew louder and louder. In a spilt second, I turned my back wondering who was behind me, but all I saw were the dented garbage cans filled with the leftovers from the nearby restaurants. The smell of rotten food wafted past my nose and assailed my nostrils. I made a note to remind myself to write a complaint letter to the Health Board to ensure they have the rubbish cleared at regular time-slots. I continued my walk, determined to get home, to the warmth of my family and to escape the bitterly cold weather.

Suddenly, a man crept behind me and tapped my shoulder. I shifted uneasily from one foot to another, facing the man. I stared blankly at him, his face wizened with grief and was badly bruised. I was shaken and baffled. I was unsure of what I had to do. He was shivering in the cold night with nothing more than a blanket with holes on it.

“Where are your children?” I asked with a sympathetic look. “I do not have any, they died in an air-crash alongside with my wife,” he said with eyes swimming with tears. I stared at him with my mouth agape, questions of whether I should bring him back with me whipped through my mind. I sat in pensive silence, with deep consideration of whether should I bring him home with me, and what would my family says about him. The questions kept gnawing at me as I looked at him.

As the meaning of Christmas was to emphasize family, goodwill, and compassion. I made a choice to bring him back home with me and to enjoy Christmas which he well should have deserved with his children. I really would wish he would enjoy the laughter and warmth in my house as we walked together in the cold night.
